The Internet of Things Market Place is Heating Up

First we had Helium manufacturing its own Longfi Hotspot Miner, then we saw helium shift gears and allowed others to manufacture and distribute whilst they focused more on their network and blockchain services. Since Helium's commercial strategic move we have seen an explosion in the sales of hotspots via popular manufacturers/distributors such as; Nebra, Rak, Syncrobit and BobCat. Now we have a new player entering the hotspot market by the name of Linxdot.

Linxdot has quoted the following, "The plan is to make Linxdot Helium Hotspots accessible to even more people so that we can start making real changes to the wireless infrastructure of the coming years. We can see so many use cases for IoT that are more consumer focussed and supported by LORAWAN as the network, to achieve this the infrastructure has to be deployed first.

Earn HNT with Linxdot

Our internal design team has been working closely with our external manufacturing partners around the clock to complete our HIP19 application and develop a powerful Indoor Helium Hotspot Miner. It has been purposefully designed to complement other devices in the home, whilst including secure internal hardware and software. Our goal is to make The Linxdot Helium Hotspot Miner a consumer-oriented device that will be available to the masses.

The Linxdot Indoor Helium Hotspot Miner will have a cool and ultra-sleek design in Space Grey with curved edges, a colorful LED light on the top. Linxdot will come with power over Ethernet, giving you the flexibility to set it up both inside the house and outdoors (with a proficient waterproof box or attached to a self/made tower). Our hotspot will also feature an enhanced 4dbi antenna for wider network coverage which means better Proof of Coverage results and of course increased $HNT earnings!

Linxdot’s launch Progress

  • We have just submitted our HIP19 application to Helium & The Decentralized Wireless Alliance and are awaiting approval.

  • We also have a working prototype of the Linxdot Hotspot.

  • In the meantime, our engineering team is working on the internals of our Miner.

  • Over the next few weeks, we will be sending our prototypes to Helium for HW Audit and progress with FCC / CE certifications.

Looking Forward

Personally, I can't wait to get my hands on this new model. It is black, has accent lighting and looks elegant as Linxdot has said. But obviously, the proof of the pudding is in the eating and I will need to see if all its good looks is worth it compared to its own performance and in comparison to my Nebra hotspots.

Then we have MXC Foundation with MatchX and their LPWAN M2Pro Miner which has already sold 40,000 M2Pro Miners in the US, Europe and Asia, whereas Helium only 34,000 Miners to date globally. who is better? it is still too early to tell in this IOT race. However, I will say, that deals are being made and Helium has now added 5G capability to their helium network, this is being rolled out in New York as we speak as Helium packs a punch in offering more income opportunities via its IOT network. More on that soon, MatchX has also been doing big things and has been given full membership in Alibaba's IOT Connectivity Alliance (ICA), that news alone is huge, if you see who the members are in the Alliance, you will see why MatchX is touting itself as the best thing since slice bread.

All the Best

Well I wish Linxdot all the best as they enter the global market with their hotspot and I know they will do well. As I have told them already the Carribean is looking forward to the opportunity to become part of the global network as we are relatively still untouched by the advances in IOT communication technologies.
